Australian singer-songwriter Dean Lewis has dropped his debut album ‘A Place We Knew’ after achieving success in 2016 with his debut single ‘Waves’ becoming certified 5x platinum and reaching No.12 in the Australian Singles charts. He continued his success with his 2018 single ‘Be Alright’ earning the top spot in the Australian Singles chart, as well as breaking into the UK Singles Chart at No.11.
It’s time for you to get to know Dean Lewis better, who will take the stage at The Isle of Wight Festival in June and make you feel every emotion.
Back in 2005, Dean was inspired to pursue music from a young age after watching a live video of Oasis, Dean started to work behind the scenes as a songwriter after a friend linked him with people in the music industry. After finding the experience frustrating, Dean joined up with producers Nick Atkinson and Edd Holloway, leading to his hit song “Waves”.
The song was featured on popular TV shows such as “Riverdale”, “Grey’s Anatomy” and “Suits” and amassed over 122 million streams. The success of ‘Waves’ led him to play in front of huge audiences across Europe, travel across both Australia and the United States to headline festivals, and play a couple shows with pop songstress Sigrid.
Following the success of “Waves”, Dean has released “Be Alright”.
This brings us to the present day. Dean has recently released his debut album ‘A Place We Knew’, an album that’s dominated by the relatable topics of love and heartbreak.
